Deb Boots is a professional, creative Brisbane wedding photographer and under Boots Photography is where this girl and her camera get to document Australian love stories.  Named by The Knot Australia as one of the 10 Best Wedding Photographers in Brisbane for 2015 and a Fearless Photographers member.

Providing her couples with the best Brisbane wedding photography experience is Boots Photography’s prime concern. Specialising in photographing a couple’s love story – lovebird portraitsengagement photography and wedding photography.

Deb’s style is a mix of unscripted documentary story telling images to capture emotion and the fun candid moments of a wedding day and fine art portraits to capture romantic moments between the couple. Her images are feminine and romantic, creative and quirky, and throw in a the must have family portraits to keep your folks happy too. Deb edits her wedding photos to take on an analogue film flavour with either beautiful soft pastel or a bright colour palette depending on the feel of the session or wedding day.

Deb grew up in Sydney and where she spent most of her adult life before making Brisbane her home in 2006. With family back in Sydney, she moves between the two cities frequently. Boots Photography is available for engagement portraits and wedding photography assignments in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Maleny, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Byron Bay and Northern NSW, as well as Sydney. Deb has an adventurous spirit and loves travel, and available for Australian and international destination weddings.

the best wedding day experience

Life doesn’t get much better than on a wedding day. It’s a chance to get dressed up, have some laughs over a few drinks, catch up with family and friends, and show your moves on the dance floor! … and every wedding needs a funny story to tell, right!

Weddings definitely aren’t stuffy like they use to be with the popularity of country style weddings, weddings being held in industrial warehouse spaces and dropping of tradition for a fun and modern wedding experience.

It’s an exciting time to be a professional wedding photographer with couples putting their unique style and personalities into their wedding day with lots of pretty details to photograph and a relaxed approach to celebrating their marriage. Even receptions aren’t boring any more with couples organising games to entertain their guests, photo booths, dessert bars and even caricature artists.

Boots Photography can provide all day wedding photography coverage to capture the bride and groom preparations through to the crazy dance floor moves well into the reception. Deb finds the best way to describe modern Australian weddings is “a big celebration or party with a marriage somewhere in the middle“.

Deb is a Nikon shooter, but in all honesty she sees her camera equipment as just tools of the photography trade so doesn’t entertain the Nikon vs Canon debate. Deb shoots with the latest professional camera gear including the Nikon D810 and Nikon D800 camera bodies and a Nikon DF and D700 as backup camera bodies. Where Deb becomes a camera gear nerd is with her lenses, she loves shooting with prime lenses with the 85mm F1.4 & F1.8, 50mm F1.4 and 35mm F1.4 being her absolute favourites, but also has a 105mm macro, the 24-70mm F2.8 and 70-200mm F2.8. Naturally in her camera kit there are a bunch of flashes/speedlights and other lighting equipment, including an Icelight which resembles a Darth Vader saber sword, and she is known to overcompensate with backup batteries.

One little piece of advice I would offer brides and grooms when selecting a wedding photographer to capture their wedding day, if your wedding photos fall in your top wedding priorities, then don’t just focus on the price, but make sure you fall in love with the photographer’s style. Boots Photography also recommend you share a chemistry with your photographer and are on the same page. Great photos are a result of trust between the photographer and couple, and good communication, so discuss what you don’t like as much as what you do like. Trust your gut instincts. A wedding day is a one time deal, so remember the advice we often hear in hindsight: “you get what you pay for“. Past Boots Photography couples have left there lovely reviews here.

If you’re looking for a fun enthusiastic wedding photographer to capture the day you marry the love of your life, please say hello via the contact form or call Deb direct on 0419 043030. Deb will be happy to provide you with prices and answer any questions.
