Family Portraits

Having a professional photographer take family photos is like purchasing a good bottle of wine – the photographs of your family mature over time and its not until years later you realise how important that investment is.

One day when your children are older, hopefully you will be able to look back at photos of them and remember when they took their first steps, those gummy smiles and first teeth, because what is the bet you were too busy trying to be parents to really absorb those moments -  you will never get those moments back!

Unfortunately it is a reality of life that we lose family members and friends, and the first thing we do is look for photos of that person – don’t you want to have some nice photos to remember that person rather than some dodgy illegible photo taken with your iPhone? All you have left are the memories in your pictures. Years later when you are telling stories of that person, don’t you want to be able to get out photographs and re-live the moments in your lives?

We easily spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars over time on games {ie. WII, XBox, PS2 etc.} to amuse our children, and clothes, handbags etc. that get thrown away once they are no longer in fashion, so why do we hesitate at spending money on having professional photos taken of the people who are most important in our lives?

Our approach to the family portrait session is to capture the families personality – whether that is a more natural photojournalist approach or we can get more creative with styling and posing. The sessions are always conducted to make you feel comfortable.

We provide all manor of portrait sessions including:

• pregnancy photography – tummies and proud to-be parents
• newborns photography – all those little fingers, hands, toes, feet, all bundled up asleep and ones with mummy and daddy too
• childrens photography – individual shots as well as brothers and sisters together
• family photography – throw the whole family to capture all the generations
• graduation photography – when the kids are leaving school, whether to go onto university or start their careers, graduation photos document that important time when a child becomes an adult
• celebrating being a woman – come in for one of our special ‘beautiful collection’ sessions where you will be pampered with hair and make-up before being photographed as the beautiful woman that you are. These sessions are great to boost your confidence or even remind your man you are still a woman even with kids tugging at your heals. These sessions are contemporary beauty portraits for the everyday woman – some would call it glamour photography, however, Boots Photography puts a modern spin on that old saying with our contemporary styled portraits

Most clients prefer our ‘on location’ photo shoots, however, we also offer studio sessions. On location sessions can be anywhere – beach, bush or urban providing we aren’t trespassing on private property of course, and anywhere in the world (but travel expenses are extra if its outside of the Brisbane, Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast areas). Sessions usually go for about 45 minutes – 1 hour.

The images will be professionally retouched and receive various treatments such as black & white and other creative effects. We will then upload the images to a secure online gallery for viewing and purchasing. We also have a range of family portrait packages – please contact us for more information. Then its a simple process of choosing which images you would like printed and any other  products. We have many products to choose from including coffee table books, albums, canvases, etc.  Portrait sittings start from $150 with a minimum order value of $500 on products.

Our aim is to keep your photography experience with us as exciting, fun and relaxed as possible to produce amazing photos of you and your family.
