Seriously its not about me pushing products on you to make a dollar, I personally appreciate printed photography and even way before I was a professional photographer (that means I earn my income from photography if you aren’t sure what exactly defines what a pro-photographer is) I loved going to photography exhibitions where the images had been captured on those huge Hasselblad/Mamiya medium format cameras that produce amazing quality and detailed photographs, then printed on beautiful museum-grade fine art paper and then hung in a gallery with alot of thought placed on the selection of every individual image and proudly displayed against white walls so the photograph could do nothing but draw you in to look at it.

And even more so in this digital world where we are flooded with digital images { and more poor quality imagery than ever before), I find Im being drawn back to viewing photographs in print – I look at them longer and truly appreciate the skills and creativity gone into making the image as well as printing the image.

While I don’t expect every piece of my photography work to be viewed by thousands of museum goers or in that high esteem, I do work towards my photography being the absolute best representation of what Im photographing and that it is appreciated by the people I am photographing in that its their own personal art collection – and hopefully they love my photographs enough to want to display them in their sanctuary – their home.  As a photographer there is no better compliment.

The main difference between you taking the image to your local print lab, canvas or photo book printer, is that Boots Photography will retouch the image/s to produce beautiful colours or b&w images, clean up skin, remove any distracting objects like background signs, leaves on the ground, creative treatments etc. to ensure your photography piece/s are the absolute best they can be.

Anyway here is a canvas I had printed up for Sarah & Adrian who’s wedding was last year.  There ceremony took place at  St James Church in Coorparoo, then onto Roma Street Parklands for the location shoot before heading to East Leagues Club for the reception.

The location was the grounds surrounding GOMA Southbank in South Brisbane.

Usually a couple have been engaged for a while by the time we do the engagement photography session – so call it Couples Portraits, Lovebird Portaits, Pre-wedding shoots, whatever you want to name them, I absolutely adore photographing couples.

Kirsten & Mitch are the perfect example of why I love photographing couples – you just can’t beat chemistry, especially when the couple forget the camera is on them.

The colours in what Kirsten & Mitch wore played beautifully with the colours of the surroundings – beautiful muted soft pastels.
